Dear Swapz member!
This article should help you to understand how swapz swapping process works
and what you should do to make it safe. We will guide you step by step through
the swapping process between two users, John and Mary.
Suppose that John has listed his swap item “New Nokia Mobile Phone”
and Mary came across this item in the swapz listings. Mary has her own swap
item - “Digital Camera” - and she decided to make an offer to John
to swap it for his mobile phone.
The safe swapping process between Mary and John can be broken down into the
following stages:
Stage 1: On the “info” page for John’s swap Mary clicks “Propose
Swap”. The item she wants to offer John out of the list of her active
swapz is her “Digital Camera”.
Stage 2. John receives a swapz mail informing him that Mary has made an offer
to swap her digital camera for his mobile phone. John goes to his “My
Swapz” and sees the new proposal. If John agrees to swap his phone for
Mary’s camera, he clicks “accept”.
Stage 3. After accepting Mary’s swap John is directed to a screen with
a request to fill in the form with his delivery address – the address
he wants Mary’s camera to be sent to. It is extremely important to submit
the correct delivery address at this stage. John double checks all the information
before clicking “submit” button.
Stage 4. After John has submitted his delivery address, Mary receives swapz
mail informing her that John has accepted her proposal. Mary goes to her “My
Swapz” page where in the “completed swapz” section she notices
John’s “New Nokia Mobile Phone” swap. Now is the time for
Mary to set her delivery address – the address where she wants John to
send his mobile phone to. She clicks “set delivery address” and
carefully fills in the form. She makes sure all the address details are correct
and submits the form.
Stage 5. After Mary’s delivery address has been submitted, John receives
swapz mail informing him that Mary has set her delivery address.
From now on both Mary and John can view the details of their completed swap
“John’s Nokia Mobile Phone for Mary’s Digital Camera”
including their delivery addresses and the others contact information. Now they
can communicate directly to clarify the details of the swap and arrange the
deliveries.
Note: Mary could not view John’s contact details and
delivery address before submitting her own..
There are 3 things that are crucial to ensure safe swapping:
- Mary’s and John’s contact details and delivery addresses have
to be submitted through swapz BEFORE Mary and John send their items to each
other.
- Mary and John must send their items ONLY to the delivery addresses that
are specified in the swap details.
- The delivery addresses entered have to be CORRECT.
If these 3 simple rules are abided by then:
- Mary will be able to trace John if he sends Mary a wrong item
- Either John or Mary can track down an item if it is not delivered or delivered
to a wrong address.
